Chess is a game of strategic importance and sharpens the mind, it's a great game. There is no other game that prepares one more for battle especially when you're up against it and in check. In chess one must cover the board and anticipate moves far in advance. Just like being able to see the play develop ahead of time in sports which is more like speed chess. Or putting together a military war plan. Chess is a simple game to learn and a not so simple game to master, it takes thought and practice.
